ONE Body in Christ

"And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it;
if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
 you are Christ's body, and individually members of it."
I Corinthians 12:26-27

The Word of God is quick to teach us that we are all part of the Body of Christ.
 What does this mean???
Let's imagine a human body in all its glory. It is made up of many parts, both large and small. Some parts aren't visible to the naked eye and some we see every day. This, however, doesn't take away from the value that each part plays. Are the eyes more important than the ears? Is the heart more important than the brain? No! We need each part of the body to work for us to feel healthy, strong and to be effective. The same occurs within the Church. The Kingdom of Christ is made up by many people with different skills and talents. Some people's work everyone sees (preachers, teachers, evangelists, prophets, musicians, youth leaders) and some are busy working without being seen (the ushers, the volunteers, the missionaries) so
It's important to remember that each Christian plays a necessary & important role within the Body of Christ; both individually and collectively. Our main purpose as a whole is to be a healthy, effective and moving Body of Christ. A Church with power. A church whose members can work well together to passionately pursue advancing the Kingdom of Christ. A church that is helpful to the community and to its members. A church that pleases God.

We are one body...
what is your part? How effective have you been?

Until we meet again
May you be salt and light to the world

  1. I agree that we all have roles and ministries. Additionally I will add that we become a stronger body when each individual knows why he believes in God and is ready to answer the hard questions of the faith. Let us not only have roles but carry deep rooted convictions based on a biblical reality!
