Decisions

"Sir, what is the secret of your success?" A reporter asked a bank president

"two words" he replied

"and sir, what are they?"

"Good decisions"

"and how do you take good decisions?"

"one word" he explained

"and sir, what is that word?"

"experience" he stated

"and how do you get experience?"

"two words"

"and sir, what are they?"

"bad decisions" was his ultimate answer.

 

 

 

How many of us feel like we make bad decisions-one after another. We see successful people ahead in the race of life and wonder...how will I ever get there? Whether it's in our spiritual life or in a financial life or even in our professional life sometimes we can't help but wonder...Isn't the Lord seeing my effort? Isn't God going to help me in my journey? When will my turn arrive?

We must always remember that the Lord wants to create in us attributes of effective Christian leaders...and what are those? PERSERVERENCE, DETERMINATION, ENDURANCE, CHILVARY, DISCIPLINE, CHARACTER, ACOUNTABILITY, PATIENCE and HUMILITY. And all these can only be acquired through EXPERIENCE...ouch! It means that we are going to have to work hard, pray, be consistent and remain motivated in the dreams the Lord has for us. Understanding that his promises over our lives will come to pass in his perfect time, but we must still put in the work.

 

"Even though we speak like this, dear friends, we are convinced of better things in your case—the things that have to do with salvation.  God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. We want each of you to show this same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised." Hebrews 6: 9-12
