Identity in Christ

 

Speaking of Identity...

As we journey through life we will live may different experiences that might create questions about ourselves, but our IDENTITY should never be in question. Why? Because we are not what our experiences say that we are, or what people say that we are; we are only what CHRIST says that we are.

Many time people struggle with emotional baggage that they carry along with them, almost like we drag a carry-on into a plane. Its; always there!! And although its not always obvious to other people, it is VERY obvious to our Lord Jesus who wants us to be free from doubt, free from the heavy burden of our past and free from the unanswered questions we might have about ourselves.

Liking it our not, keeping secretes and unanswered questions separates us from others and even from God.

God wants you transformed and made new!

So how do we go about our transformation?

1. Understand that you are a sinner and that you are allowed to make mistakes-

those mistakes don't make you who you are.

2. Release your past, your mistakes, your sin, your questions and your secrets to Jesus-

let Him take care of these things.

3. Be patient! being transformed will be a daily process of renewal.

Let God work on His greatest masterpiece (YOU!)-he will not fail you.

4. Remember that Satan will bring to your mind your greatest failures and will fill your head with ungodly thoughts. When the thoughts come fight them with the Word of God and remind yourself daily...

 

I AM WHAT JESUS SAYS THAT I AM.

I WILL MAKE MISTAKES EVERY DAY

BUT THE GOD I SERVE FORGIVES ME

HELPS ME AND HE CLEARS MY NAME

I AM NOT A RESULT OF MY PAST

MY PAST SIN DOES NOT CONTROL MY FUTURE

BECAUSE I HAVE A NEW HEAD

HIS NAME IS JESUS

AND ALL POWER OVER ME NOW BELONGS TO HIM

I CHOOSE TO BELIEVE WHAT JESUS SAYS ABOUT ME

THAT WILL BE MY TRUTH AND NOTHING MORE

I AM WHAT HE SAYS I AM

 

until we meet again, keep being salt and light unto the world.
