Prayer to God

Lord

I stand at your door knocking

Hear my plea

There are some things in life 

I cannot change

And there are others that I can

Allow me to know the difference

There is wisdom in seeking advice;

But protect me from those who might offer

Destructive opinions

Open my ears to what is good

And close them to that which is evil

Give me the capacity to listen sufficiently

without being considered foolish

and the determination to be able to decide

On my own

Don't allow me to become lost in others

But rather

capable to find my strength inside myself

Through You

Give me

Discernment 

That I may see clearly

Wisdom

That I may find the correct approach

And courage

to have the guts to do it

Amen

I wrote this prayer on July 16, 2007 & it is still my prayer today. :)
